It is going on two months since I wrote about the Pack, and I thought that you all would like to know how things are shaping up. I would first like to say that all is well as can be for them and me, even with the restrictions on our movements around the neighborhood. My mom is still concerned about the attack by LT and Loki on the little animals that run around free and unsupervised here.
I have put the Coast to Coast idea in the round file for a couple of reasons; 1) LT's viciousness as to small animals and a lesser extent Loki's learning of his father's ways, and 2) Diva has given birth o another litter of pups! So that idea of crossing the nation is out (Fun though, it sounded). ~last bit in the voice of Yoda~
I want to keep all of the pups but that is not feasible here in Santa Ana CA, so it looks like I will be parting with most of them. I told my mom that I wanted to keep three, she says one, I think I will end up keeping two.
My Pack has got to be the most spoiled group of dogs on the west coast, they get their kibble mixed with chicken broth, Diva gets a nursing @!$%# milk fortifier and a can of soup/stew on top of the normal kibble/broth combo. I have thought about the extended wilderness living that both The Pack and I will shortly be doing, and a six month supply of kibble and broth alone will be right at (30), 40lbs bags of kibble and (270), 16oz cans of broth. I will be stocking large quantities of food staples, so baking treats (biscuits and such) will be a healthy alternative to stocking store bought ones. Not to bad for the pleasure of their company, and the knowledge that they are strong and happy.
I know some will think me an irresponsible pet owner for allowing Diva the opportunity to get preggers again, but honestly I thought that there was time to get it done, But Nnooo.
We raised Malamutes when I was a kid and these pictures took me back. We also had red and black ones. In fact Our first "Nanook" was known as the 50th red in the lower 48. Thanks for the pics.
ahhhhh, I want one...... even though I already have 2 puppies and a cat
Such beautiful babies! I too wish I could take one off your hands, but to tell the truth, I'm not alpha enough for that type of dog, and you need to be a strong personality.
*Sigh*
I think I'll keep the little couch potato I have.
nice looking pups Robertlyn.. Lots of work though.. Have fun with them while you do have them.. Take care.. R.max
I want one, too! Boy, my dog sure could use a friend to terrorize me and my belongings a little bit more.
It's great to hear what's up with you and your pooches... Sorry to hear your not doing the cross country thing, but I can hardly blame you... I can't imagine how difficult that would be...
Cute pups!!!
My dream is to open a home for geriatric Malamutes...
Great article Rob, I love the pictures... Those dogs eat better than I do dammit!
Burn 'em if ya gottem, you know it!
Hi Robertlyn,
Loved, loved, loved reading about your dogs. Those babies are gorgeous. And you are clearly a great dog dad.
I was mom to Samoyeds for 20+ years. Bid farewell to our last guy last Fall. So reading about their Arctic cousins did my heart good. Your Loki sounds like our Sacha, our first Sammie, who was a major trickster and always getting into some kind of mischief. Very alpha. Ah, these northern breeds are just the best.
This update is wonderful! Thank you for sharing the pics -- The puppies are just gorgeous. How is Diva doing?
Not to bad for the pleasure of their company, and the knowledge that they are strong and happy.
You're a good man, Rob.
I love your puppies they are beautiful!! I don;t think I have ever seen red ones before. Thought they were all black and white?
Good luck with your project.
Great pics man. It's cool to see things like that on the vine with so much serious stuff going on.I've got a german shepard and a pitbull myself and as much a handful they are I can't imagine having that many dogs at once. All I can say is better you then me.LOL.
Also thanks for the friend request,it means a lot to me.Keep us posted on the puppy parade:)
