So there is all this talk of anti-government social upheaval, huh? Lately folks seem concerned that “Extremists” will stage violent confrontations with governmental forces in the coming months… Yeah Right!
Not going to happen, at least not any time soon that is. Wars are fought by the young, this is just the way of things, and in general, the Modern American Young people are not the revolutionary tools that are necessary for the construction of a popular force to tactically engage with governmental forces. I say this with the confident knowledge that most of the youth of America are either Fat, Dumb, or Lazy (generally a combo of the three) and would not last a week in the bush. To embark on a guerilla campaign against a First World Government (like America) is not easy nor is it likely to succeed, the type of person to take that path is probably driven by belief in the “cause”. This is not the driving force in the lives of our modern young people, now-a-days unless something is easy or has immediate reward the youth are not interested… most American Kids have only fired a gun on X-Box, or Playstation… to have them suddenly take up arms and live like an insurgent is laughable, at least in my mind.
The liberty loving Men and Women who would be physically and mentally (not to mention financially) capable of sustained unconventional combat operations are generally invested in the social structure of our nation, and even though they may see the government growing far beyond it’s constitutional structure and the corrupt nature of our political system, there is no great call to engage in anti-social, combat activities. Nope, these folks are productive members of the citizenry, and they will act like the Americans they are, and utilize the power of the vote to counter the changing political realities, not the power of violent action. Are some of these fine folks members of citizen militias? Some are… yes, but so what? Citizen Militias are legitimate to the point of being delineated and quantified under US Code and they can be beneficial to their local communities.
This is not to say that the government of The United States has no worries of violent revolt from it’s citizenry, not at all. The government is held in check partially becuase of the inherent theat of violent action by the citizenry. Recent events have shown the new administration is fettered on many fronts in it’s quest to place as many folks under the thumb of Big Brother as it can. The now abandoned proposed reinstatement of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban that Pres. Obama was calling for during his campaign is a perfect example of his limitations in restricting our freedom and/or reinventing America. Now this moronic Health Insurance “reform” law has ratcheted up the heat once again, it is never a good idea to force things on folks… especially Americans. With this track, they (The Obama Admin) will find that folks will keep that heat up all the way to Nov. and the Democrats will be held to account in the polls.
If the economy gets worse, if local and state governments begin to go broke, if the Jack-Booted thugs (BATF) start their crap again… Who really knows what tomorrow will bring, but as of now my analysis is this; I just do not see a coming civil war, or even small localized attacks on government facilities (by Americans) on the horizon.
**Note** I can not participate in violent actions to change political or social conditions because of a pledge I signed long ago, so no revolution for R.S., but that does not mean I have to turn-off my brainbox if the subject comes up, nor does that mean I would hesitate to drop anyone if they threatened the safety of myself , my liberty, my property and the same goes for my friends, family, and teammates.
